MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Volley Cats closed out their regular season in style on Senior Night Saturday with a 3-0 victory over the visiting Georgetown Tigers. Bethel won 25-20, 25-18 and 26-24.

Makayla Franks, Lani Turner, Lucy Acuff, and Addison Coulter were honored before the game.

Bethel Coach Starla Cupples said each of these girls hold a special place in her heart. "These young ladies will forever be a part of the growing Bethel volleyball family. We've had many laughs, a few tears, and some great memories. We will miss them all but wish them great success with the next chapter."

The Cats move on to the 2021 Mid-South Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament which begins Thursday in Bowling Green. The three-day tournament concludes Saturday, Nov. 13.    

The tournament begins with the opening round and quarterfinals taking place on Thursday at Ephram White Gym in Bowling Green, Ky. The semifinals on Friday and the championship on Saturday will take place at Bowling Green High School.

Life earned the top-seed in the 12-team tournament after winning the regular season title with a 16-0 conference record. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (21-5, 13-3 MSC), Thomas More (Ky.) (25-5, 13-3 MSC) and Campbellsville all earned a bye into the quarterfinals. Lindsey Wilson earned the second seed over Thomas More by having the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Tournament action gets underway on Thursday at 10 a.m. CT with eighth-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio) (16-12, 5-11 MSC) taking on No. 9 seed Bethel (Tenn.) (10-14, 3-13 MSC). The winner of will face top-seeded Life at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday.

Fifth-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.) (27-9, 11-5 MSC) faces No. 12 seed Pikeville (Ky.) (5-25, 2-14 MSC at 10 a.m. CT. Fourth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) (22-6, 12-4 MSC) awaits the winner in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. CT.

No. 7 seed Tennessee Southern (22-11, 7-9 MSC) battles 10th-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) (7-20, 3-13 MSC) at 12:30 p.m. CT. The winner will advance to face No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (21-5, 13-3 MSC) in the quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Sixth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) (19-10, 9-7 MSC) faces 11th-seeded Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (9-18, 2-14 MSC) at 12:30 p.m. CT. Thomas More (Ky.) (25-5, 13-3 MSC) will face the winner at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The semifinals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT and 8 p.m. CT on Nov. 12 with the championship taking place at 5 p.m. CT on Nov. 12

Seeding for the tournament is based on the team's conference winning percentage throughout the 2021 regular season. Bethel earned the No. 9 seed over Georgetown due to having the head-to-head. Freed-Hardeman earned the 11th seed over Pikeville by having the head-to-head.
