Solid Effort by Volley Cats Comes up Short vs. LWC

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats played hard with great effort but came up short versus No. 21 Lindsey Wilson Tuesday night in Crisp Arena. The Blue Raiders won 27-25, 25-14 and 25-19.  

The first set saw LWC jump out to a 6-1 lead, but the Lady Cats fought back to take a 15-14 margin. The two squads battle for every point thereafter. Bethel took a 25-24 lead on a Hannah McGowan kill. The Blue Raiders would show why they are ranked however with a 27-25 win.

The second set saw LWC jump out to a 14-9 lead. They slowly increased the margin to 19-11 and would win 25-14.  

Third action was tight, but LWC pulled away from a nine all tie to win.

Hannah McGowan led the Cats with 15 kills and eight digs. Nayeli Vilchez had a solid effort with 20 assists. Sami Parker led the team with nine digs.

Bethel dropped to 7-11 and 1-10 in the MSC. Lindsey Wilson moved to 17-4 and 10-2 with their third straight win. Bethel suffered their eighth straight loss. 

The teams met back on September 21st in Columbia with the Blue Raiders winning in three straight sets.

The Lady Cats make the short trip to Henderson Thursday to face Freed Hardeman at 7 p.m. Bethel beat FHU 3-0 back on September 24 in McKenzie.
