UT Southern Takes Down Volley Cats in Crisp

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Volley Cats played host to UT Southern (formerly Martin Methodist) Friday night in Crisp Arena. It was Bethel's first match since September 7.

UTS snapped a three- game losing streak with a 3-0 victory. The Hawks won 25-19, 25-20 and 25-15.

Bethel dropped to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the MSC. UTS improved to 10-5 and 1-3.

Sami Parker led the Bethel effort with 15 digs. Nayeli Vilchez had 13 assists. Hannah McGowan finished with eight kills while Ashely Sommerfeld had seven kills on the night.

The Wildcats will host Lyon College at 4 p.m. Saturday. The JV game has been cancelled.

Tickets are not required for the match.

It is suggested fans wear a mask and practice social distancing outside their family group. These suggestions are for the safety of each and to assure our student-athletes can complete their seasons in a healthy environment.
