Successful Home Opener for Volley Cats
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to Mississippi University for Women Tuesday in their 2021 home opener.
Bethel moved to 5-1 on the season with a 3-0 victory. Bethel won, 25-23, 25-17, 25-12. MUW dropped to 0-4.
Hannah McGowan led the Cats with 15 kills and 11 digs. Ashely Sommerfeld and Kamesha Moxley each had eight kills. Brookelyn Davis contributed with 20 assists. Nayeli Vilchez had another solid effort with 18 assists while Sammi Parker was steady again with 13 digs.
The Wildcats return to action this weekend with a match at home versus University of the Cumberlands at 6 p.m. Friday. Saturday there will be tri-match at Crisp Arena. The Cats face UPIKE at noon. UPIKE and William Carey will play at 2 p.m. followed by Bethel and William Carey at 4 p.m.
