Lady Cats Split Matches on Final Day of Vette City Classic
BOWLING GREEN, Ky, - The Bethel University Volley Cats closed out their final day of the Vette City Classic in Bowling Green Saturday splitting their two matches.
The Wildcats beat Brescia 3-1 in the afternoon match, winning 25-16, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-14. With the victory, the Lady Cats moved to 3-0 on the year.
Nayeli Vilchez led the Cats with 18 assists and 19 digs. Hannah McGowan had 16 kills and 11 digs. Brookelyn Davis had 17 assists. Sami Parker contributed with 12 digs.
The early evening match saw Bethel lose for the first time on the season falling to Indiana-Southeast. Southeast won 3-1 with scores of 25-21, 18-25, 17-25 and 13-25.
Davis had 19 assists, Vilchez had 12 assists while Parker had 15 digs. McGowan had 16 kills giving her 32 on the day and a total of 69 in the classic.
The Lady Wildcats return to action on August 31 at Lyon College.
