Tennis Cats Compete in Hard Fought Matches in Mobile
MOBILE, Ala. - The Bethel tennis teams experienced hard fought matches on their southern trip to Mobile.
The women's team lost to No. 20 University of Mobile 6-0 and 5-2 but rallied with an impressive 5-2 victory at Spring Hill College.
The men's squad lost 6-0 and 7-0 at No. 25 Mobile. The Cats dropped a 7-0 decision at Spring Hill.
Coach Derrick Hubble commented, "The Lady Cats played well in all three matches, and they continue to grow as a unit. The guys fought hard and took several matches in each match to third sets. They suffered leg cramps and some injuries which hampered some good efforts. I'm pleased with efforts from both squads and look forward to seeing what happens as we have conference matches this weekend against Cumberlands and Pikeville." Hubble added, " We have to continue to bond and have the right mindsets. The ladies will continue to grow and grind and the men will find a way out of the slump we are in. I believe they are close to doing that."
The teams host Cumberlands at 1 p.m. Friday and UPIKE Saturday at 1 p.m.
