Women’s Soccer Upsets No. 23 Columbia College
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Two teams looking for their first early season win clashed Friday in Columbia, Missouri as the Bethel Lady Wildcats met the Columbia College Lady Cougars.
The Lady Cats moved to 1-2-0 with a 1-nil upset of No. 23 Columbia. The Cougars dropped to 0-3-1.
A second period goal at the 71:41 mark by Zainab Manneh accounted for the only score of the contest.
Both teams finished with nine shots in the match. Bethel had a 4-3 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel's Estelle Olive was solid in goal for the Lady Cats finishing with three saves.
Coach Misty Aird said, "We beat a really good team on the road and deserved this victory. I am so proud of how hard we played."
