Lady Soccer Cats Move to MSC Semi-Finals with Victory over Lindsey Wilson
MCKENZIE, Tenn. -Postseason action began for Bethel Friday as the No. 4 seeded Lady Cats played host to the No. 5 seeded Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament.
The Lady Cats stayed alive in the tournament with a 2-1 win. Bethel moved to 9-6 on the season and advances to take on No. 1 seeded and No. 1 ranked the University of the Cumberlands Monday in Williamsburg in the semi-finals.
The chilly temperatures on the early November evening did not deter the home team as they led 2-nil at the half.
Briley Ross knocked in a goal after an assist by Ainhoa Chirivella at the 24:34 mark.
Chirivella scored twelve minutes later on an assist by Addison Schumacher.
LWC's Lara Rocha cut the Bethel lead in half with a goal at the 71:43 mark.
Bethel outshot the Raiders 15-5 and had a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal.
The Cats and Patriots play Monday at 3 p.m.
