Women’s Soccer Plays Home Opener Sunday at Noon
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats get back to the pitch Sunday hosting (RV) Middle Georgia State at Wildcat Stadium. The home opener is scheduled to get underway at noon.
After a 1-0 win at Texas A&M Texarkana this past weekend Bethel is 1-0 on the season. Both squads struggled offensively but in the end the Lady Cats pulled out a hard-fought 1-0 victory. Freshman Tacia Austin scored the only goal in the match. She gave the Wildcats the win at the 73:57 mark of the second period. Sophomore Alicia Perez had three saves for Bethel who outshot the Eagles 7-3 in the game.
It was the seventh meeting with Bethel now holding a 6-1 advantage in the series. The Cats are 4-0 in Texarkana.
MGS is 2-0 on the year.
It will be the fourth meeting between the two programs with the Knights holding a 2-0-1 advantage in the series. They last me back in 2018.
