Women’s Soccer Opens Season with Win in Texarkana
TEXARKANA, TX – The Bethel Lady Wildcats opened their soccer season Monday at Texas A&M- Texarkana. The match was delayed for two hours due rain and storms in the area.
Both squads struggled offensively but in the end the Lady Cats pulled out a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
Freshman Tacia Austin scored the only goal in the match. She gave the Wildcats the win at the 73:57 mark of the second period.
Sophomore Alicia Perez had three saves for Bethel who outshot the Eagles 7-3 in the game.
It was the seventh meeting with Bethel now holding a 6-1 advantage in the series. The Cats are 4-0 in Texarkana.
The Cats are back in action Sunday at noon in Wildcat Stadium hosting (RV) Middle Georgia State.
