Women’s Soccer Loses Heartbreaker to No. 14 Campbellsville
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats fought hard but eventually fell 3-2 to No. 14 Campbellsville Tuesday.
Bethel took a lead at the 35:13 mark as Ashari Bowen found the right corner of the net after a pass from Ainhoa Chirivella. The Lady Tigers tied the match less than eight minutes later on a goal by Lina Berrah. Campbellsville struck again on a strike by Sang Min Cha with 4:54 left in the period. Angeline Kieh was credited with the assist. The Cats struck right back with a goal from Jodi Butler with 2:58 left in the period. The teams went to the break at two-all.
The Tigers won on a header by Jenna Croteau with just 4:26 left in the match.
Campbellsville outshot Bethel 19-6 and had an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The Tigers moved to 10-1 with their ninth straight victory. Campbellsville remained undefeated in league play at 6-0. Bethel dropped their sixth straight and fell to 3-8 and 1-6. Four of the six losses have been by just one goal.
The Lady Cats are back in action Saturday hosting No. 11 Lindsey Wilson at 4:30 p.m. It will be Senior day for the Wildcats.
