Lady Soccer Cats Open Season at Middle Georgia Saturday
COCHRAN, Ga. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats open their soccer season Saturday at Middle Georgia State in Cochran, Georgia. The match begins at 2:30 p.m. CST.
The Knights defeated Point University Wednesday night to even their record to 1-1 on the year.

Season Preview
The Bethel Lady Wildcats look forward to the fall campaign with high expectations as they bring back several key members of a squad that was 9-6-1 in the spring. Bethel made their second straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
The Lady Cats competed in the MSC for the first time last season and did well finishing 5th in the league with a 5-4-1 mark.
The Lady Wildcats lost several key players. Shanearay Wilkins was named to the first team all-conference squad as a defender. She was also an Honorable Mention All-American. Bethel will also need to replace two outstanding players in Brittany Bray and Catie Hatch.
Coach Misty Aird commented, "We will miss some outstanding players, but we are excited to have our because of Covid super seniors Elvira Martin, Sacha-Gay Brown, Jodi Butler and Shanay Ricketts return. We also have great seniors in Molly Flynn, Rafaela Passos, Maria Campos, and Ashari Bowen coming back." Ricketts was 2nd team all-conference last season. Martin led the team with six goals and five assists. Butler followed with five goals.
Coach Aird added, "We also have some talented newcomers joining us. Highlighting that group are two local players in Elle Carson and Allie Chappell. Along with our youth and experience we are really excited about this upcoming season."
Coach Misty Aird enters her 21st season with the Lady Wildcats and will be coaching her 410th game with the program. She is 11th in the NAIA among active coaches. Aird is 247-124-37 overall and the all-time winningest female coach in NAIA history.
