Women’s Golf Signs Hometown Standout

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Bethel Women's Golf Coach Larry Joe Smith recently added a hometown star to his women's golf program. McKenzie High School star, Charli Weatherford signed with the Lady Cats at a ceremony held at the high school.

Charli is the daughter of Kelly ad Clara Weatherford of McKenzie and is undecided on her major. She is the granddaughter of Bob & Susan Bouldin and Jerry Weatherford.

Weatherford's playing experience includes:

McKenzie Middle School, 8th grade

McKenzie High School, 9-12th grade

Sneds Tour, 3-year member

Mid-South Golf Series, 3-year member

 Charli's athletic awards/honors

Athletic Awards/Honors:

Three-time nominee for the Jackson Sun Female Athlete of the Week

Four-time individual top three finish in the TSSAA Division I, Class A District Tournament with two years as match medalist honors in 2024 & 2025

Three-time individual top ten finish in the TSSAA Division I, Class A, Region 7 Region Tournament with match medalist honors in 2025

8th place individual finish in the 2025 TSSAA State Golf Championship 

Sneds/Mid-South - One win and eleven top ten finishes in 2024. Three wins and three top ten finishes in 2025.

 Charli feels her biggest strengths are her swing speed and distance.  

Coach Smith commented, "Charli will bring immediate recognition to our program. We are getting an athlete with extensive experience, intelligent practice, and work ethic, plus the tools to make an immediate impact."
