Bethel’s Shelsea Vera Wins in Centerville
CENTERVILLE, Tenn. – The Lady Wildcat golf team opened their season Wednesday in Centerville, Tennessee at the Riley Moore Memorial Invitational. It was a big day for the team and Bethel's Shelsea Vera.
The event was played at the Centerville Golf Course with Freed-Hardeman serving as the host school. Four teams consisting of 24 players played the par 72, 5, 802-yard layout.
Bethel's Shelsea Vera tied with Blue Mountains Riley Mayhew for the lead after shooting a two over par 74. Vera won by the virtue of a playoff. Newcomer Albane Le Helloco finished seventh at eight over after shooting an 80. Hope Homar shot ten over 82. Tessa Myers was eleven over and 10th in the field.
Sasha Guinsbourg tied for 16th while Samantha McCaslin was 24th.
Blue Mountain won the team title at plus 24. Bethel was 31 over and took second place.
