#2 Lady Wildcats Remain Perfect with Win over Stephens College
CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. – The second-ranked Bethel Lady Wildcats continued their early-season roll Friday night with a convincing 90–52 victory over Stephens College inside Powell Athletic Center in the Campbellsville Classic. The win moves Bethel to 5–0 on the year as they showcased another balanced, efficient offensive performance and a relentless defensive effort.
Bethel jumped out to a 28–19 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back. Shooting 58.1% from the field and outscoring the Stars 46–24 in the paint the game was never in doubt. The Lady Wildcats had a 26–23 advantage on the boards and forced 21 Stephens turnovers, turning those into 20 points on the other end.
Mikee Buchanan and MJ Simmons powered the Bethel attack, each scoring 16 points to lead five Wildcats in double figures. Buchanan was sharp from mid-range, going 8-of-13 from the field, while Simmons added five rebounds and was nearly perfect from the free-throw line (5-for-7).
Micah Hart delivered another all-around performance, posting 15 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists for her first double-double of the season. Kylie Reynolds contributed 14 points with a pair of threes, and Adalyn Koelling came off the bench for 12 points and three steals.
Bethel's offensive rhythm never wavered, shooting 64% in the first quarter and a blistering 75% in the third, when they blew the game open with a 26–9 run.
Stephens (1–3) was led by LaiJanique Perry-Ellis, who scored 20 points, and Kelsey Crossan, who added seven.
The Wildcat squad continued to impress with its depth — 10 players scored in the win, and the Lady Wildcats' bench added 24 points.
The Lady Cats play again on Saturday meeting Indiana Southeast at 2 p.m. in the classic.
