Lady Cats Beat Lindsey Wilson

Lady Cats Beat Lindsey Wilson

MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The No. 9 Bethel Lady Wildcats Lady Cats returned home Thursday to host Lindsey Wilson.

The Lady Cats and Raiders were meeting for the 15th time. Bethel took a 9-6 advantage in the series with an 83-65 victory. Fueled by key contributions from starters and reserves alike, the team displayed resilience and depth to notch another win.

A Game of Momentum

The game began as a back-and-forth contest, with both teams trading blows in the first half. Bethel kept pace thanks to standout efforts from Madison Hart, who dominated in the paint and finished the night with a game-high 23 points on an efficient 8-of-14 shooting. Hart had six rebounds leaving her nine short of 500 career boards.  By halftime, Lindsey trailed by just two.

The Turning Point: Third Quarter Dominance

The third quarter proved decisive. Bethel exploded out of the break with a relentless defensive effort, forcing turnovers and converting them into transition points. Micah Hart and Kalynn Howard were instrumental during this stretch, combining for several key baskets and locking down on defense.

Micah Hart's aggressive play earned her 16 points, including 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, while Howard came off the bench to provide a spark, hitting two three-pointers and finishing with 15 points. The team collectively shot an impressive 85.7% from the free-throw line, keeping their momentum intact as they built a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter.

Key Contributors

Hallie Turner orchestrated Bethel's offense, dishing out six assists to complement her 10 points. Turner's court vision helped create open looks for teammates, particularly Madison Hart, whose clutch scoring extended Bethel's lead late in the game.

Mikee Buchanan and MJ Simmons were keys on the boards, combining for nine rebounds. Their physicality in the paint stifled the opposition's second-chance opportunities.

Kylee Alexander also provided a spark off the bench, sinking two crucial three-pointers in limited minutes. Meanwhile, Kyla Taylor's hustle on both ends of the floor added five rebounds to Bethel's total of 29.

Team Effort Secures the Win

Bethel's victory was a testament to their depth and ability to execute as a team. Despite shooting just 27.8% from beyond the arc, their dominance in free throws and fast-break opportunities compensated for any shortcomings. With six steals and only seven turnovers, Bethel controlled the tempo and took care of the basketball.

In the end, Bethel's third-quarter performance was the difference, as they outscored their opponent by a wide margin to claim the win. This home victory adds to their growing momentum as the season progresses.

Bethel is 170-38 all-time in Crisp Arena.

The win was the 393rd career victory for Coach Chris Nelson.

The Lady Wildcats moved to 17-3 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-South Conference.

Bethel is 7-0 at home this season.

LWC dropped to 13-6 and 1-3.

The Lady Cats remain at home with a game against No. 3 Campbellsville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
