Lady Cats Drop Close Game at Cumberlands (KY)

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The No. 9 Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped their second game in a row falling 79-74 in conference action at the University of the Cumberlands Saturday afternoon.

Bethel trailed 20-19 after one and 40-34 at the half. Despite falling behind by as much as ten in the third quarter, the Cats battled back and trailed by just three at 56-53 after three. The Lady Pats hung on to win by five.

Bethel shot 40 percent from the floor and hit nine of 30 three-point attempts. They were 11- of -16 from the free throw line.

UC shot 44 percent from the floor and hit six three-pointers. The Pats shot 21 free throws and hit 15 of those attempts. UC had a 39-37 advantage in rebounds.

Micah Hart followed her career high of 37 points at Georgetown with another big day with a game high 24 points. Mikee Buchanan followed with 17 points. Madison Hart had a double-double with 11 points and a game high 14 rebounds. 

Lakin Burke led No. 16 Cumberlands with 21 points.

Bethel dropped to 16-3 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-South Conference.

The Patriots are 16-3 and 2-1.

It was the 9th meeting between the two programs with UC leading the series 9-0.  

The Lady Cats return home Thursday to host Lindsey Wilson. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. Bethel is 169-38 all-time in the arena.

It will be the 11th meeting between the two programs with the series tied at 5-5. LWC won both games last year.
