Bethel’s Madison Hart Closing in on 1,000 Point Club

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Prior to the season, eighteen players had scored 1,000 points in their basketball careers as a Lady Wildcat.

Bethel's Madison Hart is poised to join that list soon as she has 981 career points entering Bethel's next game on Tuesday at home against Simmon College. The tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Hart, the junior from Yorkville, has played 67 games and has a career average of 14.6 points per outing. She has started in all 67 games. Hart has averaged six rebounds per game, and  shot 50 percent from the field in her career. Hart shoots 82 percent from the free-throw line.

Madison has scored twenty or more points in 16 games as a Lady Wildcat. She had a career high of 31 points which she did as a freshman against Wilberforce.

Coach Chris Nelson commented, "Madison has been the pillar of our program since day one of walking on campus. She covers all aspects of what we want the framework of our team to be about. She is an old school basketball player that comes to work every day with the same mindset and work ethic. She is the type of person and player you wish you could coach your whole career. Madison is humble and doesn't mind sharing the spotlight with her teammates. The best compliment you can give a player is knowing you have respect of all your peers and opposing teams. It has been neat to see her open up and mature as a person since being here and especially fun to watch her play with her younger sister. We are going to cherish this next year and half getting to coach and watch her play."
