Lady Wildcats Remain Perfect with Win in Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic
Adrian, MI- The Bethel Lady Wildcats remained unbeaten with a 62-49. victory Sunday over Siena Heights in the Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic in Adrian, Michigan.
Both squads struggled offensively in the first quarter. The low scoring quarter saw Bethel lead 12-4 after the first ten minutes.
The Lady Cats found their shooting touch in the second stanza outscoring the Saints 22-15. Bethel led 34-19 at the break. Siena Heights shot just 21 percent in the first half.
Madison Hart led Bethel in the half with nine points. Mikee Buchanan had eight points.
The Saints stayed within striking distance outscoring the Lady Cat 13-12 in the third quarter. Siena Heights had an 18-17 margin in the fourth as Bethel held on for the 13-point victory.
The Cats shot 41 percent from the floor. The Lady Cats hit just 5-of -17 three-point attempts and were 13-of-21 from the free throw line. The Saints struggled from the floor shooting 28 percent and hit just six three on 24 attempts.
Both teams had 20 turnovers each.
Buchanan led Bethel with 16 points and a game high seven rebounds. Micah Hart had 13 points, five boards, and four steals. Buchanan and Hart were named to the all-tournament team. Madison Hart was named the MVP of the tournament.
Brooke Redman led the Saints with 14 points.
Bethel moved to 8-0 while Siena Height dropped to 5-5.
The Lady Cats are off until December 10th when they host Simmons College of Kentucky. Tip-off for the second home game of the season is at 5:30 p.m. CT.
