Lady Wildcats Dominate Lawrence Tech in Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic
Adrian, MI – The Bethel Lady Wildcats turned in a commanding performance on the opening day of the Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic, defeating Lawrence Tech 78-58 in a game that saw them dominate from the start.
The Lady Cats quickly seized control of the game, jumping out to an 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Led by a balanced scoring attack, Bethel's offense clicked early, and their defense was suffocating. But the second quarter would be when they truly broke the game open.
Bethel went on a stunning 20-0 run to start the second quarter, extending their lead, and forcing Lawrence Tech into turnovers and bad shots. The Lady Cats outscored their opponents 26-11 in the period, and by halftime, they had built an imposing 44-22 lead.
"We really set the tone defensively in that second quarter," said Bethel Coach Chris Nelson, "Our pressure forced them into tough shots, and we capitalized on turnovers. It was great to see everyone contributing."
Despite the Lady Wildcats' strong start, Lawrence Tech came out with renewed energy in the third quarter. The Blue Devils adjusted their defense and found their offensive rhythm, outscoring Bethel 23-19 in the period. By the end of the third, the Wildcats' lead had been trimmed to 18 points, with Bethel still in control at 63-45.
The Lady Cats refused to let Lawrence Tech close the gap further. In the final quarter, Bethel's offense once again dominated, outscoring the Blue Devils 15-13 to seal the 78-58 victory.
Standout Performances:
- Madison Hart led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, continuing her strong play in the paint and from the perimeter.
- Micah Hart contributed 14 points and six rebounds, providing a steady presence on both ends of the floor.

Bethel dominated inside, finishing with 46 points in the paint, while also capitalizing on turnovers, scoring 36 points off Lawrence Tech's mistakes.
"We really worked on controlling the game inside," said Hart. "We wanted to establish ourselves early, and we did just that. We were able to get some easy buckets off turnovers, which was huge."
With the win, Bethel improves to 8-0 on the season. Lawrence Tech dropped to 1-8.
The Lady Wildcats will return to action on Sunday, December 1st, at 3:00 PM CST, as they face off against Siena Heights in the final game of the Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic. After their dominant victory over Lawrence Tech, the Lady Cats will look to continue their strong play and remain unbeaten in the tournament.
