Balanced Scoring Leads Lady Wildcats to Conference Win at Wilberforce

WILBERFORCE, OH -The Bethel Lady Wildcats ended their two-game road trip with an 86-48 victory at Wilberforce University Saturday afternoon in Wilberforce, Ohio. The Cats bounced back from a Thursday loss at No. 1 Thomas More.

The Lady Wildcats took charge early with a 23-10 margin after one quarter. The Cats extended the lead to 47-29 at the half. Raegan Blackburn led Bethel with 11 points. Six Lady Cats scored six or more points in the first 20 minutes. Bethel shot 58 percent in the half.  

The Lady Cats outscored the Cougars 19-9 in the third to lead 66-38 after three. Bethel cruised to the big win in the fourth.

The Wildcats shot 48 percent from the floor. Bethel connected on seven three-pointers. The Cats hit 19-of-22 free throw attempts and outrebounded the Bulldogs 36-13.

Kalynn Howard led Bethel with 16 points. Madison Hart finished with 15 points while Keely Morrow and Blackburn had 14 each.

Bethel improved to 11-15 overall and 7-13 in the MSC. The Bulldogs dropped to 4-21 and 0- 20.

The Lady Cats return home for their regular season finale Thursday playing host to Cumberland University. Tip-off is at 5:30 with senior ceremonies taking place before the tip-off.
