Lady Wildcats Hit Road to Face No. 1 Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -The Bethel Lady Wildcats will take a two game winning streak to the road Thursday when they travel to Crestview Hill, Kentucky to battle the No. 1 Thomas More Saints. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. CST.
The Cats are coming off an impressive 69-59 home win over Freed-Hardeman. Bethel is 10-14 overall and 6-12 in the MSC. The Saints are 23-1 and 17-1. Thomas More is undefeated in the Connor Convocation Center at 11-0 while the Cats have struggled on the road at 1-9.
The teams met earlier in the year in McKenzie with TMU winning. The Saints hit five three pointers and shot 56 percent in the first quarter and that set the stage in what would be the pattern throughout the entire game as they beat the Lady Wildcats 90-52. TMU would go on to hit 19 three-pointers and shoot 54 percent from the floor. The Saints finished with 21 assists in the game. Compounding the problem for the Lady Cats was a cold shooting night on their side of the ledger. Bethel shot 30 percent and hit just two three-pointers. The Cats hit 20-of-27 free throw attempts. TMU had a 33-27 margin in rebounds. Keely Morrow led Bethel with 15 points. Madison Hart finished with 10 points. Courtney Hurst was one of four Thomas More players in double figures and finished with a game high 19 points. Hurst had a game high seven three-pointers.
It will be the fifth meeting between the two programs with Thomas More owning a 4-0 advantage in the series.
