Lady Wildcats Host Lady Tigers

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats look to rebound after their Thursday loss to Cumberlands playing host to the Georgetown Lady Tigers Saturday at 1 p.m. in Crisp Arena.  The Cats dropped an 86-81 decision to the Patriots falling to 8-14 overall and 4-12 in the MSC. Bethel is 152-29 all-time in the ten-year history of Crisp. 

The Tigers led 33-31 at the half at Freed-Hardeman Thursday but FHU would prevail and beat GC 67-65. Georgetown is 13-9 and 9-7.

On January 5th, Georgetown knocked off Bethel, 79-66 in Georgetown. A promising first half saw Bethel lead 19-14 after the first quarter. The Cats led 34-33 at the break. The Tigers won on the strength of their second half effort outscoring the Lady Cats 46-32 in the half. 

Bethel shot 37 percent in the game. The Cats were 6-of-13 in three- point attempts and hit 10-of-17 free throw tries.

Georgetown had a 38-32 rebound advantage.

 Keely Morrow and Madison Hart led Bethel with 12 points each. Alyia Lee and Raegan Blackburn followed with 11 points each. Kyla Taylor had 10 points. Lee and Taylor finished with seven rebounds each.

The Tigers shot 40 percent from the floor and nailed nine three pointers. GC was 18-of-21 from the charity stripe.

Erin Toller tossed in a game high 30 points for Georgetown.

Saturday's meeting will mark the seventh meeting between the two programs with GC leading the series 4-2.
