Lady Cats Fall to Faulkner in Thanksgiving Classic
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats completed play in the Faulkner Thanksgiving Classic with a 68-51 loss to the host school Sunday.
Faulkner moved to 8-1 on the year while Bethel dropped their fourth in a row and fell to 5-4 on the season. Both teams entered the match-up receiving votes in the recent NAIA Top 25 Poll.
Bethel led 14-13 after the first quarter but Faulkner outscored the Cats 23-14 in the second and led 36-28 at the half. The Eagle maintained a comfortable margin and led 51-38 after three quarters. Bethel could never close the gap in the fourth quarter.
Both teams struggled form the floor shooting just 31 percent. Faulkner connected on seven three pointers (7-31) while Bethel hit four (4-22). The Cats were 11-of-14 from the free throw line while the Eagles hit 17-of-25 attempts form the line. Faulkner had a 49-39 rebound advantage.
Madison Hart was the only Wildcat in double figures with a double-double as she finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Faulkner's Nequoia Adams had a game high 18 points.
The Lady Cats return to league play Thursday at Lindsey Wilson. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
