Lady Wildcats Visit Freed-Hardeman Tuesday
HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats will attempt to bounce back from their first loss of the season traveling to Freed-Hardeman Tuesday for a league test against the Lady Lions. Tip -off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the Countdown to Tip-off Show airing at 5 p.m. on WEIO, 100.9 and at www.thefarmradio.com
Bethel dropped a rare home game Saturday falling 63-55 to Pikeville. It was only the 26th time in the ten-year history of Crisp Arena Bethel had lost. The Cats fell to 5-1 and 1-1 in MSC play.
The (RV) Bethel Lady Wildcats could not overcome a cold shooting second quarter (2-13) and fell for the first time on the season, losing to the (RV) Bears. The Cat shot just 15 percent in the quarter and 37 percent in the game.
Bethel trailed 35-26 at halftime but mounted a comeback outscoring the Bears 18-8 in the third quarter to take a 44-43 lead after three. UPIKE answered with a 20-11 margin in the final frame.
Bethel was outrebounded for the first time on the season losing the battle of the boards at 30-26.
Bethel's Kyla Taylor had a game high 19 points. Madison Hart had 17 points. Hart also had a game high nine rebounds.
FHU is 5-0 and 2-0. The Lions beat Pikeville (67-65 OT) and Shawnee State (82-74) this past weekend.
It will be the 35th meeting between the two programs with Freed holding a 25-9 advantage in the series.
