Lady Cats Fall at No. 2 Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – After an impressive win at Shawnee State Thursday, the Bethel Lady Wildcats had their five-game winning streak snapped at No. 2 Thomas More Saturday in Crestview Hills. The Saints won 89-58.
Thomas More jumped out to a 11-2 lead and led 29-14 at the end of the first quarter. After knocking down 12 three-pointers, TMU led 57-31 at the half.
The Lady Cats showed some spunk with a rally in the third quarter with a 20-8 margin. The Saints led 65-51 entering the fourth.
Thomas More recaptured their momentum in the final quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 24-7 to close out the game and in doing so beat the Lady Cats for the second time on the season. The Saints beat Bethel 55-53 in McKenzie in January.
TMU finished with 16 made treys. The Saints had a 42-29 rebound advantage and enjoyed a 39-20 margin in bench points.
Jenna Foust was the only Wildcat in double figures with 10 points. Taylor Clos had a game high 25 points for TMU. She made seven three-pointers and was one of seven Saints who hit a three for the Saints.
Bethel dropped to 16-11 overall and 10-9 in the MSC. TMU improved to 23-3 and 16-2.
Millie Bryant finished the game with 1,342 career points and 620 career rebounds. She is 10th in program history in scoring and 10th in career rebounds. Earlier this season she became just the 10th Lady Cat to score 1,000 points or more and collect 500 rebounds or more
Mickey Head finished the contest with 867 career rebounds and 268 career blocks. She has 1, 250 career points with 767 of those as a Lady Wildcat.
