Lady Wildcats Beat Brescia in Chamber Classic Finale
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – A day after the starters carried the offensive load in their 64-55 victory over John Brown University, Bethel turned their attention to their bench in their 84-38 win over Brescia Saturday.
Bethel's reserves outscored the Bearcat bench 38-10. Ashton Hulme had 13 of those bench points hitting all four of her three-point attempts. Starter Ryann Roberts led Bethel with 15 points.
Alecea Homer and Riley Collins finished with nine points each for Brescia.
The Wildcats had a big rebound advantage at 42-23. Bethel shot 50 percent from the floor hitting 32-of-64 attempts from the floor. The Cats hit ten threes and knocked down 10 of their 13 free throw attempts.
Bethel's defense forced Brescia into 22 turnovers. The Bearcats finished 15-of -50 from the field at 30 percent. They hit just two three pointers and were 6-of -14 from the charity stripe.
Bethel moved to 3-1 while the Bearcats fell to 1-3.
In the earlier game, No. 3 Campbellsville beat John Brown 82-60.
Bethel is back in action Tuesday night at Tennessee Tech. The action begins at 6 p.m.
