Coach Chris Nelson was pleased with the win." We are thankful to get the first win of the year. USHP came out ready to play and made it hard on us. We finally settled in and made a nice run to end the half. We have the experience with our returners and a talented bunch of newcomers, but it is going to take time and part of the process for us to be as smooth as we want to be."
It was Bethel's 150th home game in Crisp Arena. Bethel is 129-21 all-time in the building.
Prior to the Bethel game, (RV) Talladega and Tennessee Southern met with the FireHawks beating the Tornadoes 87-81 in overtime.
