Oklahoma Shooter Inks with Shooting Cats

McKenzie, Tenn. -Cashing, Oklahoma high school shooting standout Abel Spire signed with the Bethel University Shooting program recently.

The All-American, and four year Team USA and USA Junior Team captain is the son of Doug and Becky Spire of Cashing.

He will major in Genetic Studies and Criminal Justice.

He is the top ranked junior and team captain of the Team USA Fitasc squad. He was also the Junior Champion at the US Open Zone Junior Championships. His 2009 team competed in the 2009 World Fitasc Championships in Russia.

Placing third in the world competition and listening to the national anthem as the USA flag was raised has been his biggest thrill.

He chose Bethel because Coach Edwards felt him feel wanted and he likes the atmosphere on campus.

"It is really an honor to be able to sign someone that has been as successful in shooting sports as Abel has been. His character exceeds his shooting ability and we are proud he has chosen Bethel University" said Bethel Coach Thomas "Bub" Edwards.
