Softball Falls to No. 18 Cumberlands in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats returned to action this weekend traveling to Williamsburg, Kentucky to face the University of the Cumberlands.

The Cats dropped game one of the three game series Friday falling 9-0 to the Pats.

Cumberlands scored three runs in the first and six in the third frame to lead 9-0.

That would be all the Patriots would need in the five-inning 9-0 victory.

The Pats outhit the Cats 6-2.

The Wildcats dropped to 12-26 overall and 3-13 in the MSC. Bethel has dropped four straight and has a 4-9 record on the road this year.

The Patriots are 29-14 and 9-4 in the league. The Pats are 16-6 in home action this season.

Bethel is 0-10 all-time versus Cumberlands.

The teams complete the series with a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. CT.
