Softball Falls to Campbellsville in MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – No. 3 Campbellsville score two runs in the first, five runs in the second and two runs in the third enroute to a 10-2 five inning win over the No. 6 Bethel Lady Cats in the first of four winners' brackets game Thursday in the MSC Championships in Bowling Green.
Bethel's two runs came in the fifth as a result of runs driven in by Kinsley Nichols and Jaelyn Wiers,
Amelia Sherrill took the loss for the Wildcats.
The Phoenix outhit Bethel 11-6.
The Lady Cats dropped to 19-21 and will play on Friday in the losers' bracket. Bethel will face No. 5 Cumberland University at 9:30 a.m. CU won two of three games between the teams in Lebanon back in March.
The tournament continues through the weekend with the championship game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 3. If the team that emerges from the consolation bracket wins on Saturday, the if-necessary championship game is at noon CT on Sunday, May 4.
The MSC tournament champion receives the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament.
