Lady Cats Drop both Games to BMCC in Home Finales
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats completed the home portion of their season Wednesday dropping both games of a doubleheader to Blue Mountain.
Leading 2-1 after four innings in game one, the Cats saw BMC score three runs in the top of the fifth. The Toppers added two runs in the seventh and led 6-2 into the ninth. Bethel scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough as Blue Mountain won 6-4.
The Toppers outhit Bethel 9-8.
Bethel committed five errors in the game.
Riley Sharp drove in two runs for the Lady Cats. Madison Carey and Maleyia Prather accounted for the other runs driven in.
Amelia Sherrill suffered the Bethel loss.
BMC jumped out in front in game two with three runs on the top of the first. Bethel answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Sharp and Sherrill drove in single runs to cut the Cat deficit to 3-2.
The Toppers added another run in the third.
A two-run sixth gave the visitors from Mississippi a 6-2 margin.
Bethel's Kinsley Caruthers drove in a run in the bottom of the sixth but BMC won 6-3.
Lauren Reimsnyder was charged with the loss.
The Toppers outhit the Cats 11-5.
Bethel dropped to 18-17 while the Toppers improved to 23-21 on the year. BMC was 4-0 against the Wildcats on the season.
Bethel travels to Campbellsville on Saturday and Sunday for MSC games to close out their regular season. The three-game set has been moved back a day due to the weather forecast in middle Kentucky.
