Lady Cats Split MSC Doubleheader with Visiting Freed-Hardeman

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – A dramatic home run in game two allowed Bethel to split their doubleheader with visiting Freed-Hardeman Saturday at Lady Wildcat Park.

Bethel took a 4-1 victory in game two with that dramatic three-run homer off the bat of Miranda Carnell in the bottom of the seventh.

FHU had taken a 1-0 lead in the second. Riley Sharp tied the game with an RBI single in the fifth.

FHU outhit the Wildcats 10-8 but stranded 10 runners during the game.

Bethel's Lauren Reimsnyder was able to pitch out of several jams going seven innings to pick up the victory.

Bethel led 4-1 after four in game one, only to see the Lady Lions score four unanswered runs in the final four innings to edge the Cats 5-4.

Kinsley Nichols and Carnell has  two hits each and drove in single runs. Amee Benson drove in two runs in the loss. Kinsley Caruthers suffered the defeat.

Bethel outhit the Lions 9-7 but left nine runners on base.

Bethel is 15-7 overall and 2-4 in the league. FHU is 7-10 and 2-4.

Bethel returns to action Monday hosting UT Southern at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
