Softball Sweeps Haskell in Tuesday Twin Bill

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Hot bats and strong pitching were the big factors in Bethel's sweep of visiting Haskell Tuesday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Park.

The Cats won game one 10-1 in five innings. Bethel took game two 13-1 in five.

The Lady Wildcats outhit the Fightin Indians 12-3 in game one. Madison Carey drove in three runs. Riley Sharp homered and drove in two runs. Miranda Carnell had two RBI's. Kinsley Caruthers, Kinsley Nichols, and Ameila Sherrill each drove in a run. Sherrill allowed just three hits and picked up the win.

A six run second and a seven run fourth in game two enabled the Cats to sweep the two games.

Carnell homered and drove in three runs. Other Cats who accounted for runs were: Nichols (2), Jaelyn Wiers (2), Sharp (2), Carey, Ashley Aldridge, Fallyn Jordan, and Caruthers. Caruthers picked up the Wildcat win.

Bethel moved to 12-5 while Haskell dropped to 2-13 on the season.

The teams play a doubleheader on Wednesday at 1 and 3 p.m.
