Lady Cats Split DH at Cumberland University

LEBANON, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats continued their three-game series at Campbellsville with a doubleheader Saturday. Bethel dropped their single game 4-2 on Friday afternoon.

Game one saw the Lady Cats drop their fourth game in a row, falling 3-1 to the Lady Tigers. Bethel took a 1-0 lead in the third on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Miranda Carnell.

Cumberland scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth grab a 3-1 margin.

Bethel outhit the Phoenix 7-5. Kinsley Caruthers suffered the hard luck loss.

The Wildcats secured a narrow 2-1 win against the Phoenix in game two.

Strong pitching by Lauren Reimsnyder and Amelia Sherrill was huge. Reimsnyder pitched five plus strong innings to get the win. Sherrill closed out the game and had the save.

Amee Benson and Caruthers had the key RBI's.

Bethel moved to 10-5 and 1-2 in the league. The Phoenix dropped to 4-12 and 2-1.

Bethel jumps back into action on Wednesday at home hosting Haskell in a twin bill at 4 & 6 p.m.
