Lady Cats Fall at Cumberland University
LEBANON, Tenn. - The Bethel Lady Wildcats returned to action traveling to Cumberland University Thursday for their conference opener. The Phoenix handed the Lady Cats their third straight loss with a 4-2 win.
Cumberland scored four runs in the first. Bethel plated single runs in the third and sixth. Jaelyn Wiers and Madison Carey each drove in a run for the Lady Cats.
Cumberland out hit the Cats 8-5. Amelia Sherrill was the hard luck loser for Bethel.
Bethel fell to 9-4 and 0-1. The Phoenix moved to 3-11 and 1-0.
The two squads will play a doubleheader Friday beginning at noon.
