Lady Cats Drop Softball Doubleheader to Blue Mountain

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped both games of their doubleheader to Blue Mountain Christian Wednesday. The Toppers won 7-4 and 15-4.

Bethel dropped to 9-3 while BMCC improved to 12-10.

In game one, Blue Mountain scored three runs in the first to take the early lead. They added a single run in the second to lead 4-0.

 The Lady Cats bounced back, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second. Kinsley Nichols drew a bases walk, and then Jaclyn Wiers singled in a run to cut the deficit in half.

The Toppers added three more runs in the top of the fourth which proved to be enough for the win.

Trailing 7-2 in the fourth, the Lady Cats scored two runs on a Miranda Carnell two run single and that would be the extent of the scoring for both squads.

The Cats outhit the Mississippi visitors 10-9.

Fallyn Sherrill suffered the Bethel loss.

Game two saw the Toppers outhit Bethel 17-6.

BMCC scored three runs in the second and three runs in the third. The Toppers blew the game open with seven runs in the sixth to win in six innings.

Wiers, Sherril, Fallyn Jordan, and Amme Benson each drove in single runs for Bethel.

Kinsley Caruthers suffered the loss.

 The Lady Wildcats return to action traveling to Cumberland University Thursday for a 2 p.m. game. It will be Bethel's conference opener.

The two squads will play a doubleheader Friday beginning at noon.
