Softball Stays Undefeated with Sweep of Lane
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats remained unbeaten at 4-0 with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Lane College Tuesday afternoon in McKenzie.
The Cats took game one 6-2 and completed the sweep with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.
A three run first and a three run sixth proved to be the difference in the game. Miranda Carnell and Riley Sharp each drove in two runs. Amme Benson had an RBI for the Cats. Bethel outhit the visitors from Jackson 9-4.
Amelia Sherrill was excellent in the circle firing a four-hitter to pick up the victory.
The Lady Cats won game two behind a strong pitching performance from Kinsley Caruthers who held Lane to just five hits. Caruthers and Sharp drove in single runs to aid the Bethel cause.
The Lady Dragons fell to 3-5 on the year.
Bethel jumps back into play Thursday hosting Grace Christian in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
