Cats Close Out Softball Series with Campbellsville
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats closed their four game MSC weekend series against Campbellsville Saturday. The Cats were trying to bounce back after the Tigers took both games Friday. It was Youth Day at the park with area youngsters joining the Lady Cats before and after the games.
The Cats fell 8-0 in game one and then lost in a slugfest 13-11 in game two.
The Tigers took control of the first game quickly with two runs in the first inning. CU added three runs in the second. A three run third inning gave the visiting Lady Tigers an 8-0 lead. The Tigers won by that score and outhit the Cats 13-2 in five innings. Kaylie McKinley suffered the loss while Katy Chadwich pitched the two-hitter for the Tigers.
Game two featured 24 runs, 30 hits, three errors and 19 runners left on base. A six run sixth inning by the Tigers proved to be the big difference in the game. Bethel had leads of 5-1, 8-4 and 10-7.

It was Bethel's fourth straight loss.
The Cats fell to 7-17 and 0-8 in the MSC. The Tigers moved to 18-9 and 9 -3.
Bethel jumps back into action Tuesday in St. Louis at Harris Stowe. The teams play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. It will be the first of eight straight road games.
