Lady Cats Drop Two in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, ALA. –After being rained out on day one of the Gulf Coast Invitational in Gulf Shores, Alabama Friday, the Bethel Lady Wildcats hit the diamond Saturday facing UT Southern in the first of two games for the day.

In a low scoring affair, the Lady Cats fell to the Firehawks 1-0. The Hawks pushed across   a run in the top of the sixth. Lauren Reimsnyder pitched well but suffered the loss. Kassidy Davis allowed only four hits and picked up the UTS victory. The Hawks moved to 8-5 while Behel dropped to 3-2.

Game two saw the Cats drop another low scoring affair. Miranda Carnell homered in the first to give Bethel a 1-0 lead.  A&M scored a single run in the fifth to tie the game. They followed with a two-run sixth to win 3-1. Kaylie McKinley was the hard loser in the game.

The Lady Cats fell to 3-3 on the season. 

The Cats play two more games on Sunday. They meet Thomas University at 11:15 a.m. and William Carey University at 1:30 p.m.
