Softball Moves Games Due to Weather Forecast
MCKENZIE, Tenn. -Coach John Weeks announced Tuesday changes to the upcoming series against the University of the Cumberlands scheduled for this weekend in McKenzie.
Due to the weather forecast, the squads will play a doubleheader Friday at 2 p.m. The teams will play a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
There will be special ceremonies before Friday's games. Graduate student Alexis Wheeler along with seniors, Kennedy Gillespie, Jezabelle Quintana and Mikayla Vincent will be honored with activities beginning at 1:30 p.m. Along with it being Senior Day, the student-athletes will receive a pin in a pinning ceremony which is a tradition with each graduating class. A pinning ceremony for all senior athletes will take place May 5. The softball team will be in Bowling Green for the MSC Championships.
Senior Athletic Director Brad Chappell commented on the event. "We are honored to present each one of these young people a pin which represents what they have accomplished here at Bethel. Being a student athlete and meeting the challenges in their respective sports and classroom can be difficult. These student-athletes have met these challenges with a determined spirit with eyes on the future. We are thrilled to honor them. This is and will continue to be a part of the Bethel Experience."
The Wildcats are 21-18 overall and 11-10 in the Mid-South Conference. The Patriots are No. 3 in the nation and 40-3 overall and 19-0 in the league.
