Lady Cats Lose Series Finale to Lindsey Wilson

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats and the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders completed their three game series Sunday at Lady Wildcat Park. 

Lindsey Wilson avoided the Bethel series sweep with a 5-3 win.

After Lindsey Wilson scored two runs in the top of the second, the Wildcats pushed across two runs in the bottom of the inning. Miranda Carnell and Maria Murdaugh drove in single runs to tie the game.

Lindsey Wilson retook the lead scoring a run in the top of the fourth.  The Blue Raiders extended their lead to 4-2 with a run in the sixth.

Kennedy Gillespie drove in Alexis Wheeler with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth. 

Lindsey scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh to push their lead to 5-3.

Madison Locke suffered the loss. Abigail Cruz picked up the LWC victory.

The Raiders outhit Bethel 14-7. The Wildcats committed three errors in the game.

Bethel dropped to 16-14 overall and 6-6 in the league. LWC improved to 13-16 and 5-6.

Bethel returns to action Tuesday traveling to UPIKE to meet the Bears . The teams play a doubleheader on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and a single game on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
