Lady Cats Sweep Blue Raiders

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders at Lady Wildcat Park Saturday.

The Cats took game one 4-2 and game two 10-2 in five innings. 

In game one, the Lady Cats plated three runs in the bottom of the third. Jezabelle Quintana, Emma Johnson and Amber Osborne drove in runs. The Raiders scored a single run in the fourth. The Wildcats made it 4-1 on an RBI single in the fifth by Maria Murdaugh.   LWC added a run in the top of the fifth to draw to within 4-2 but the Cats would hold on to win.  Quintana was the winner while Abigail Cruz was charged with the loss. Both teams had eight hits in the game.

In game two, Bethel scored two runs in the first with runs by Wheeler and Murdaugh scoring on LWC errors. LWC tied the game in the fourth at 2-2. Bethel answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. Miranda Carnell drove in a run which was followed by a two-run homer by Murdaugh. Bethel grabbed a 6-2 lead. The Cats put the game away with four runs in the fifth. Kalani Kuroda doubled in a run. Mikayla Vincent scored when Osborne stole second. Kinsley Caruthers drove in the final two runs. Bethel outhit the Blue Raiders 10-7. Lauren Reimsnyder was the winner while Grace Adams suffered the LWC loss.

 The Wildcats moved to 16-13 overall and 6-5 in the Mid-South Conference

Lindsey Wilson dropped to 12-16 and 4-6.

The squads play a single game Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
