Softball Falls to No. 14 Freed-Hardeman
HENDERSON, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats and the No. 14 Freed-Hardeman Lions wrapped up their weekend MSC series Sunday afternoon in Henderson. The Cats were trying to bounce back with a win after dropping a doubleheader to the Lions on Saturday.
It wasn't to be, however, as the Lions completed the series sweep with a 14-2 five inning victory.
Amber Osborne and Emma Johnson drove in runs with RBI singles to give Bethel a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
FHU scored a single run in the second, six runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth to take a 14-2 lead. FHU had a 13-5 margin in hits.
Lauren Reimsnyder suffered the Wildcat loss. Brittany Adair was the winner for the Lions.
The Cats dropped to 14-13 overall and 4-5 in the league. Freed moved to 12-6 and 5-3.
Bethel's scheduled doubleheader at Brescia Tuesday has been cancelled.
The Lady Cats return to action next weekend playing host to conference foe Lindsey Wilson. The teams play a single game Friday at 2 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
