Softball Cats Complete Series Sweep at Shawnee State

GREENUP, Ky. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats and the Shawnee Bears closed out their weekend series Sunday in Greenup, Kentucky.  

The Cats swept the series winning the finale 5-1. It was Bethel's fifth straight win.

The Cats outhit the Bears 9-5. SSU committed four errors in the game.

Maria Murdaugh homered and had three hits for Bethel. Murdaugh, Kennedy Gillespie and Miranda Carnell drove in single runs for the Wildcats.

Lauren Reimsnyder picked up the win. Kalani Kuroda was credited with the save.

The game was played with a wind chill of 27 degrees.

Bethel moved to 14-10 overall and 4-2 in the MSC. SSU dropped to 11-10 and 2-4.

Bethel is 7-0 all-time in the series between the two programs.  

 The Cats have a few days off until Friday when they travel to No. 3 Freed-Hardeman for a single game at 5 p.m. The two play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday.
