Lady Cats Run Rule Thomas More
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –After dropping a doubleheader Friday to Thomas More the Lady Cats and Saints closed out their three-game weekend MSC series Saturday at Lady Wildcat Park.
Thomas More's Maclai Branson put the Saints ahead with a two -run homer in the first.
The Lady Cats took a 3-2 lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. Jezabelle Quintana doubled to lead off the inning. With one out Kirsten Eversole singled sending Quintana to third. Quintana scored when Emma Johnson reached on an error. Kinsley Caruthers singled in Eversole. Johnson scored when Amber Osborne reached on an error.
Bethel's Kalani Kuroda hit a two- run homer in the third to up the lead to 5-2.
Alexis Wheeler singled in a run in the fourth to give Bethel a 6-2 margin.
Maria Murdaugh gave Bethel an 8-2 lead with a two run double in the fifth. Kennedy Gillespie followed with a single driving in two runs to give the Cats a run rule 10-2 victory.
Bethel outhit the Saints 10-2.
Quintana went the distance to garner the win. Emma Kent suffered the TMU loss.
The Wildcats moved to 9-8 overall and 1-2 in the MSC. The Saints dropped to 9-6 and 2-3.
Bethel jumps back into action after a quick turnaround hosting Mount Mercy University Monday in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. (Note Time Change)
