Lady Cats Split DH with Thomas More
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – After suffering their first loss of the season in game one of their doubleheader against Thomas More Saturday, the Bethel Lady Wildcats came back with a vengeance in game two, winning 14-2. TMC took game one, winning 9-5.
Bethel's Jade Brallier drove in two runs. Melanie Alexander, Macey Cox and Madison White each drove in single runs. Billie Douglas suffered a rare loss for the Wildcats. Annika Gels picked up the TMC win.
The Lady Cats scored four runs in the first and nine in the second to take early control in game two. Alexander hit two homers and drove in four. White went deep and drove in three. Brailler had three RBI'S and drove in three runners. Leah Hayes had two RBI's. Maddie Cochran picked up the victory for Bethel.
Bethel completed the day at 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the MSC. Thomas More is 2-4 and 1-3.
Coach John Weeks commented, "We struggled in game one but got back on track in game two. We have a few days off and will get ready for some key conference games next weekend in Pikeville."
The Lady Cats hit the road for the first time on the season traveling to Pikeville Friday and Saturday for a four game set against the Bears.
