Derrick Hubble enters his Ninth season as the head coach of the Bethel University men’s tennis programs in 2026-27.

Hubble reached a career milestone during the 2025-26 season, earning his 100th victory as a collegiate head coach.

Under his leadership, both Bethel tennis programs have experienced steady growth and achieved success on the court and in the classroom.

During each of Hubble’s first three seasons, men’s teams improved their records from the previous year. In 2020, the Wildcats opened the season with a 6-2 record—the program’s best start in 10 years—before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bethel finished 12-10, advanced to the championship match of the Mid-South Conference Tournament and ended the season ranked No. 24 in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll.

For his efforts, Hubble was named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

His teams have also excelled academically. The women’s program received Bethel’s NAIA Team Academic Award in both 2019 and 2020.

Before taking over the tennis programs, Hubble served as an assistant in Bethel’s Sports Information Department and as a graduate assistant with the Lady Wildcats basketball program.

A Bethel alumnus, Hubble earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education in 2013 and completed his master’s degree in education in 2018.
