Soccer Cats Win at Oakland City
OAKLAND City. Ind. – The Bethel Wildcats traveled to Oakland City Monday and had their hands full against the Mighty Oaks before leaving town with a 1-0 victory.
Bethel's Souleymane Balde had a first period goal to give the Cats a 1-nil lead at the break.
Neither squad was able to score in the second stanza, and the Cats won their second in a row and moved to 3-0-1 while the Oaks dropped to 1-7-0.
The Wildcats had a 11-8 margin in shots. Oakland City had a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal but Bethel's Diego Camargo remained solid in net with four big saves.
Bethel returns to action Saturday making the trip to Williams Baptist with play beginning at 2 p.m.
