Soccer Cats Salute Seniors with Win Over FHU

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats closed out the regular season Tuesday night at home versus rival Freed-Hardeman. It was Senior Night for the Cats with ceremonies taking place at halftime of the women's match.

Pablo Ramirez, Jamie Hope, Hubert Kopany, Stanley Isaac, Mountaga Sall, Mame Ibou Diop, Taylor Chapman, Jermaine Muirhead, Stephen Kelly, and Hannah Brake were honored and saluted for their efforts as Wildcats.

Down 2-nil in the second period, the Cats scored three unanswered goals to pull out a dramatic victory at 3-2.

At the 66:13 mark, Horace Avila Jr. put Bethel on the board. Pablo Ramirez scored at 78:19 mark and Bethel was within one. Mountaga Sall had the assist. Avila Jr. scored the game winner with 12 minutes remaining.

Bethel outshot the Lions 15-8 and had a 9-7 margin in shots on goal. Ethan Arrignon recorded five saves for the Wildcats.

Bethel moved to 8-5-3 overall and 3-3 in the MSC.

FHU fell to 11-5-2 and 2-4-0 in the league.

The Wildcats are 12-0 versus the Lions all-time.

The Wildcats move on to play later this week in the Mid-South Conference tournament versus Campbellsville.

Tournament Update: 

 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the top seed in the Tournament, conference officials announced on Tuesday with the release of the tournament bracket.

The six-match tournament begins at the higher seeds home field, on November 8th or 9th quarter final play begins. The semi-final matches will be played November 11th at 3 P.M. CST in Columbia Ky. The Championship match is set to take place November 13th at 6 P.M. CST in Columbia Ky at Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) as they are the overall No.1 seed. 

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished the regular season as champions, finishing with a 5-1 conference record, earning them the bye. There was a three way tie for 3rd, so after tiebreaker results and head to head results were accounted for, Cumberland (Tenn.) earn's No.3, Cumberlands (Ky.) earns No.4, and Bethel (Tenn.) earns No.5.

The tournament gets underway as No. 4 seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) is taking on No. 5 seeded Bethel (Tenn.)

No. 2 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) will face No. 7 seed Georgetown (Ky.)

No. 3 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) will face No.6 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.)

The championship match is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 P.M. CT at Lindsey Wilson College's Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
